St. Ann Police Urge Justices Of The Peace To Help In Maintaining Law And Order

Head of the St. Ann police, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell has called on Justices of the Peace in the parish, to work closely with the police, in maintaining law and order.

 

He was speaking at a commissioning ceremony for Justices of the Peace, in Ocho Rios, yesterday (July 15).

 

Forty-three Justices of the Peace were commissioned into service.

 

SSP Powell said the St. Ann police are looking to tackle several issues, including road fatalities and disorder in the main towns.

 

He expressed hope that the newly commissioned Justices will play a part in the efforts.

 

He said there has been a rise in fatal crashes, from 10 last year, to 17 for the corresponding period this year.

 

 

He implored the Justices to take their role seriously, noting that citizens depend on their service.
