Over $250M earmarked for road repairs in North West St. Ann

Over 250 million dollars has been earmarked to be spent on road repairs and other infrastructural developments for the constituency of North West St. Ann.

This was disclosed by Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation Everald Warmington, during an extensive tour of the constituency, on Tuesday (July 227).

He was accompanied on the tour, by Member of Parliament Krystal Lee, Mayor of St. Ann’s Bay Sydney Stewart and other officials from the ministry, including representatives from the National Works Agency.

The minister announced that among the roads to be repaired is a section of the Priory and the Bamboo main road.

He also listed a section close to Sleepy Hallow, which has broken away, leaving motorists in fear of running over into the gully.

He said that in addition to these works, several other projects will be undertaken.

He said that due to the cost of these projects, some works will be carried out, in two phases.

This will include the Runaway Bay to Browns Town Main Road, which will be repaired at a cost of 200 million dollars.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for North West St. Ann Krystal Lee expressed satisfaction in the initiatives announced by the minister.
