Jamaica records 211 Covid-19 cases and 3 more deaths

Jamaica recorded 211 new Covid-19 cases yesterday (July 30) pushing the countrys case count to 52,895.

Of the new cases, 120 are females and 91 are males.

They range in age from 4 months to 88 years.

All parishes recorded new cases, with St. Catherine having the highest tally of 68, followed by Kingston and St. Andrew with 49 cases.

The positivity rate is 24 percent.

Meantime, there were 3 new Covid-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,190.

The deceased are a 92-year-old female from Westmoreland, a 79-year-old male from Manchester, and a 56-year-old female from Kingston and St. Andrew.

The Health Ministry said two more deaths are now under investigation.

Meanwhile,13 more persons have recovered, pushing that tally to 46, 979.

4,365 cases are active.

157 persons are in hospital, among them, 26 who are critically ill, and 29 who are moderately ill.
