by August 4th, 2021

The World Health Organization, WHO is calling on high income countries to suspend administering Covid-19 booster shots until at least September, to enable 10 per cent of the population of all countries to be vaccinated.

Director General of the WHO, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus made the call during a press briefing this morning (August 4).

Noting that there continues to be a disparity in the number of vaccines being administered in low income countries compared to high income countries, Dr. Tedros said this must be remedied.

He is urging stakeholders including the G20, vaccine producers and Olympic athletes to support the call.
