An 8-year-old boy is dead and two men are nursing gunshot wounds after gunmen attacked a group of persons in content, York Town Clarendon Sunday morning.

The child has been identified as Xavier Phillips of Content District.

Reports are that about 7:40 a.m., citizens were at a local playfield when a Toyota motor car approached and two men alighted and opened fire at the group before escaping.

The police were summoned and on their arrival, Xavier and two men were seen with multiple gunshot wounds.

They were taken to hospital.

Xavier was pronounced dead. One of the wounded men was treated and released and the other was admitted in serious condition.
