Opposition Spokesman on Health Dr. Morais Guy, says the new Covid-19 measures announced by the Prime Minister yesterday (August 9) are only a reshuffling of past strategies that have not worked.

Speaking with Irie Fm News, Dr. Guy says the opposition is looking for more meaningful initiatives from the government, to tackle the Covid-19 crisis.

However, Dr. Guy notes that it is clear that the government is running out of ideas, to seriously combat the virus.

In acknowledging the Prime Minister’s announcement that he intends to take vaccination efforts to the community level, through an islandwide vaccination roadshow, Dr. Guy says it is not a good move.

Despite not being in agreement with the Prime Minister’s islandwide roadshow, Dr. Guy agrees that the vaccination programme, must be brought to the community level but with the help of specific groups.

He also reiterates the call for private medical practitioners across Jamaica to provide vaccinations to their patients.
