Minister of Education Fayval Williams has announced that classes for the 2021/2022 academic year will begin on Monday September 6, using various modalities, with a gradual phasing in of face-to-face engagement.
She made the announcement while addressing the 57th Annual Conference of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, JTA, this morning (August 18).
Mrs. Williams said face-to-face engagements for early childhood and primary schools will commence in mid-September, while face–to–face classes for secondary schools are set for October.
She said a joint press conference with the Health Ministry, will be held tomorrow (August 19), regarding the vaccination of some students.
