NAJ says nurses are returning to work, following sick-out; some still out due to poor weather conditions

by August 26th, 2021

President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica, NAJ Pasty Edwards-Henry says nurses across the island are returning to duty, following yesterday’s sickout.

However, the numbers are still low, due to the heavy rainfall impacting the island.

A number of public health nurses called in sick yesterday, in protest over issues, including salary, inadequate resources and staff shortage.

Speaking with Irie Fm News this morning (August 26), the NAJ President said that although there has not been a hundred percent turnout at work by the nurses, their absence is not due to any grievance, but a result of poor weather conditions.
