MAJ President says gov’t might have to extend current Covid-19 measures to stem spread

President of the Medical Association of Jamaica  President says the government might have to consider extending the current Covid-19 prevention and control measures.

His comments come just before the second phase of the no movement days which begins tomorrow, and as Covid-19 cases continue to rise.

Today (August 28) the Health Ministry said that the country hit a record high, positivity rate of 50.7 per cent.

Dr. Manning says it takes a while to know if the measures are working, but based on the increases, the measures will have to be extended.

He says citizens must ensure, that they are compliant with the measures.
