Opposition Leader Mark Golding is renewing his call for the government to provide greater support to the vulnerable being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In an address to the nation last evening (August 31), Mr. Golding noted, that the opposition has repeatedly called for measures, to support those suffering from the economic impacts of the Covid-19 crisis.

He said the one-time cash grant given last year was highly insufficient for a struggling population.

He said the government must respond appropriately with the surplus it has from last year’s budget.

Meanwhile, the Opposition Leader said the government needs to reconvene the Disaster Risk Management Council to effectively confront the pandemic.
