The new academic year began today (September 6), but many students were not engaged in classes.

This as some schools did not resume teaching, while for some who held classes, poor internet connection posed a problem.

One parent from Trelawny told Irie Fm News, that her child was unable to participate properly in the process, due to internet challenges.

Meanwhile, teacher at the Excelsior High School in Kingston, Noela Dacosta, says classes did not resume at her institution, as staff met to discuss plans for the school year.
