by September 8th, 2021

As online schooling continues for the second straight year, the National Parent-Teacher Association of Jamaica, NPTAJ said parental support is of greater importance now more than ever, to ensure that students don’t fall further behind.

President of the Association, Mitsie Harris-Dillon, said over the past year and a half, several children have suffered because of a lack of parental supervision.

She is calling on parents to ensure that their children have the necessary support.

Noting that not all parents have the luxury of being with their children at home, due to work requirements, she said measures must be put in place to facilitate the education of children.

She is also calling on schools to ensure that proper communication and guidance are offered to parents, so they can understand what’s required of their children.
