Health Ministry postpones Pfizer vaccine administration

The ministry of health said beginning tomorrow, the administration of the Pfizer vaccine will be postponed, until a second shipment arrives from the United States of America.

 

This is expected to happen within the next two to three weeks.

 

Speaking during a Covid Conversation press briefing this afternoon, health and wellness minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said almost all of the 200,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccines that were shipped to Jamaica from the USA last month, have been used up.

 

 

Dr. Tufton assured that persons due their second dose will get the jab, once supplies arrive in country.

 

 

And, Dr. Tufton said close to 700,000 doses of vaccines have been administered, to date.
