Alternative work space arrangements are being put in place for the students impacted by this morning’s fire at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.

The blaze damaged the upper floor of a building, which housed the painting studio.

The fire brigade responded to the call about 9:25 a.m. and 3 units were dispatched to conduct cooling down operations.

Marketing and Public Relations Manager at the Edna Manley College Coleen Douglas said the cause of the fire and the estimate of damage, are yet to be determined.

She said guidance counsellors and the Dean, have already met with the students, who lost art projects and equipment, due to the fire.
