Jamaica records declines in new Covid-19 cases, deaths and hospitalizations, in the past 24 hours

The country has recorded declines in new Covid-19 cases, deaths, and hospitalizations, in the past 24 hours.

The Health and Wellness Ministry recorded 252 new Covid-19 cases, 117 fewer cases than reported on Sunday (September 26).

The case count now stands, at 83,030.

Of the new cases, 142 are females and 110 are males. They range in age from 3 months to 91 years.

The positivity rate is 20.6 percent.

Meanwhile, 7 persons have died from Covid-19, representing 3 fewer deaths than recorded on Sunday.

The death tally has now been pushed to 1,841.

The deceased are from St. Mary and Trelawny.

2 other deaths have been classified as being under investigation.

619 persons are hospitalized with Covid-19, among them are 150 patients who are moderately ill, 96 who are severely ill and 46 who are critically ill.

195 more persons have recovered from Covid-19, pushing total recoveries to 52,292.

There are 28,313 active cases.
