Government advanced in efforts to provide laptops for teachers

by September 29th, 2021

Technology Minister Daryl Vaz says the government is advanced in efforts to provide laptops for teachers, in a bid to better equip them with devices more suitable for online classes.

This is different from the Tablets for Teachers Programme effected under a wage and benefits agreement between the government and the Jamaica Teachers Association.

Speaking in Parliament yesterday (September 28), Mr. Vaz noted that 26,000 tablets were procured for teachers.

He said the laptops will cost government over 400 million dollars.
