Taxi operators across the island are being offered a two thousand five hundred dollar ($2,500) gas voucher, by Johnson’s Petroleum and Unipet Company Limited, once they turn up at the gas station with proof that they are vaccinated against Covid-19.

The initiative is a joint venture between the Transport Ministry and the Transport Authority in collaboration with some taxi associations.

Speaking at the launch ceremony yesterday (October 5), Transport Minister Robert Montague, said the programme forms part of efforts to get more members of the public transport sector, vaccinated.

Mr. Montague hinted at the future implementation of another benefit programme, for the taxi operators who redeem their vouchers.
