Jamaica records 31 additional Covid-19 related deaths and 246 new cases

Jamaica has recorded 31 additional Covid-19 related deaths.

The deaths occurred between August 11 and October 14.

The Health Ministry says 5 of the deaths were previously under investigation.

The deceased are 24 females and 7 males.

They range in age from 27 to 89 years.

They lived in St. Ann, Trelawny, St. James, Hanover, St. Elizabeth, Manchester and Kingston and St. Andrew.

The country’s Covid-19 death tally is now 2,103.

There were 2 coincidental deaths, 4 additional deaths are under investigation.

Meantime, 246 new cases were recorded, pushing the tally to 87,232.

Of the new cases, 157 are females and 89 are males.

They range in age from 13 days to 89 years.

All parishes recorded new cases.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest with 71, followed by St. Catherine with 53.

370 persons are in hospital, among them 44 who are severely ill, 25 who are critically ill and 88 who are moderately ill.

Meantime, 182 more persons have recovered, pushing the tally to 55,264.

There are 29, 267 active cases.
