Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says despite surpassing the one million milestone for the number of vaccines administered, the country still has a long way to go.

As of Sunday afternoon, the country administrated   1 million 455 doses of  covid-19 vaccine; with 553-thousand 341 first doses; 391-thousand 782 second doses and 55-thousand 333 of the single dose vaccine.

Speaking with IRIE FM News, Dr. Tufton says with the November target for  a million doses met before schedule, the goal is to achieve  65 percent of the population vaccinated by March next year.

Dr. Tufton notes that Sunday’s numbers show that there has been an increased take-up of the vaccine by the public.

Regarding the house-to-house vaccination programme, the Health Minister points to the progress being made.
