Jamaica records 12 additional Covid-19 related deaths and 65 new cases

The Health Ministry is reporting 12 new Covid-19 deaths, pushing the death tally to 2,287.

The deaths occurred between August 4 and November 6.

The deceased were from St. James, St. Ann, St. Elizabeth, Kingston and St. Andrew, Portland and St. Catherine.

Meantime 65 more persons have tested positive for Covid-19.

The country’s case count now stands at 89,746.

Of the new cases, 40 are females and 25 are males.

They range in age from 5 to 92 years.

All parishes recorded new cases except St. James and Trelawny.

The positivity rate is 5 percent.

224 persons are hospitalized.

35 of them are moderately ill, 23 are severely ill and 11 are critically ill.

279 more persons have recovered from the virus, pushing total recoveries to 59,318.
