Jamaica records 102 new Covid-19 cases and 2 additional deaths

Jamaica has recorded 102 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the country’s case count to 90,311.

Of the new cases 55 are males and 47 are females.

They range in age from 1 year to 78 years.

All parishes except Portland recorded new cases.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest with 29, followed by St. Ann with 26.

The positivity rate is 8.1 per cent.

Meantime, the Health Ministry is reporting 2 additional Covid-19 related deaths.

The deaths occurred in August and November and were previously classified as being under investigation.

The deceased are an 89-year-old female from Westmoreland and a 70- year-old male from Kingston and St. Andrew.

253 more persons have recovered pushing that tally to 60,847.

There are 26,506 active cases.

201 persons are in hospital, among them 31 are severely ill, 14 critically ill and 51 moderately ill.
