by November 17th, 2021

The number of persons killed on the nation’s roadways since the start of the year has surpassed the 400 mark.

This as a fatal motor vehicle crash along the Portmore Toll Road in St. Catherine, last evening pushed the tally to 401.

Dead is 41 year old Kevin Dunn of First Street, in Kingston.

Reports are that at about 7:50 pm Dunn was driving along the roadway, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a metal guard rail and a concrete utility pole.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Vice Chairman of the National Road Safety Council, Dr. Lucien Jones says the council is concerned about the increasing number of road deaths.

He says a collaborative effort is needed to remedy the issue.
