Jamaica records 72 new Covid-19 cases and 2 more deaths

Jamaica has recorded 72 new Covid-19 cases, as well as 2 more deaths.

The new cases push the tally to 90,630.

Of the new cases, 37 are females and 35 are males.

They range in age from one month to 92 years.

St. Catherine recorded the highest number of cases, with 20, followed by Kingston and St. Andrew, with 18.

The positivity rate is 11.8 percent.

Meantime, the Health Ministry is reporting 2 additional Covid-19 related deaths.

The deaths occurred on November 16 and 17.

The deceased are an 89-year-old male from St. Catherine, and a 53-year-old female from St. Mary.

The country’s Covid-19 death toll is now 2,356.

121 more persons have recovered, pushing the tally to 61,605.

The ministry also reported that 173 persons are in hospital, among them, 24 who are severely ill, 8 who are critically ill, and 30 who are moderately ill.
