NHT receives applications for all units at Ruthven Towers, despite initial uproar over hefty prices

Despite the uproar about the cost of units at the National Housing Trust, NHT‘s Ruthven Towers, Prime Minister Andrew Holness says all 86 units at the upscale apartment building, have been applied for.

There was backlash from citizens when it was revealed that the cost of the units would range from 27 to 37 million dollars.

Speaking at the NHT handing over ceremony for Twickenham Glades, in St. Catherine, today (December 1) the Prime Minister said the successful applicants would be announced soon.

Meantime, Mr. Holness said he has directed the NHT, to re-evaluate its participation in the segment of the housing market targeted at upscale developments such as Ruthven Towers.

He said there was another phase planned at Ruthven Road.
