Jamaica records six additional Covid-19 related deaths and 32 new cases

For the second day in a row, the country is seeing an increase in Covid-19 deaths, with some six additional casualties recorded yesterday (December 1).

Two of the deaths were previously classified as being under investigation.

The deceased are 5 females and 1 male. Their ages range from 37 to 87 years. Four lived in St. Elizabeth and two lived in St. Catherine.

The Covid-19 death toll is 2,402.

Meantime, 32 new cases have pushed the case count to 91,304.

Of the new cases 15 are females and 17 are males.

They range in age from 2 to 92 years.

St. Catherine recorded the highest number of cases with 11, followed by Kingston and St. Andrew with 7.

The positivity rate is 5.4 per cent.

36 more persons have recovered, pushing that tally to 62,702.

156 persons are hospitalized, among them, 14 are severely ill, 9 are critically and 34 are moderately ill.
