The Trelawny Police have charged ten persons for breaches of the Disaster Risk Management Act , DRMA, in relation to an incident after a funeral in Stettin, yesterday (December 6)

Commanding Officer for the Trelawny Police, Superintendent Carlos Russell says the incident occurred about 4 p-m.

He explains that police had anticipated that there would have been a large turn out of mourners for a popular young man who died in October.

According to Superintendent Russell, as a result, officers were deployed to monitor the funeral and ensure there was no breach of the DRMA.

He states that after the funeral about 500 people gathered at a bar, music was being played and a party got underway.

According to Superintendent Russell, officers went to the venue and told the people to end the party and attempted to shut it down. It’s reported that some persons became boisterous and behaved disorderly.

The police began arresting persons for disorderly conduct, when it’s reported that stones and other missiles were thrown at the lawmen.
