by December 14th, 2021

High inflation rate and the Covid-19 pandemic continue to threaten the economy, even as it remains on a recovery path.

That’s according to the Economic Programme Oversight Committee, EPOC.

Speaking at a quarterly press briefing today (December 14), Chairman of EPOC Keith Duncan said the inflation rate continues to breach the 4 to 6 percent target range.

Mr. Duncan said up to September, all quantitative targets were met except for the inflation targets.

According to Mr. Duncan there have been increases in the business, 12 month point-to-point and core inflation rates.

According to Mr. Duncan, the BOJ projects that the inflation rate will remain above the 4 to 6 percent target until the second half of next year.

He added that the Covid-19 implications affected a number of revenue targets.
