Kingston Central Police Division warn that they will not allow area to enter the new year as a crime hotspot

The police are warning criminals that the Kingston Central Division will not enter the new year as a crime hotspot.

Since Monday (December 27), at least four people have been killed in the division, including a 10-year-old girl.

Speaking with residents during a tour today (December 31), Operations Officer for Area 4, Senior Superintendent Steve Mcgregor said the police will be maintaining their presence in the area.

He said the crime must stop.

Meantime, Operations Officer for Kingston Central, Deputy Superintendent Linval Phoenix said the flare-up of violence is due to gang warfare.

He named several men, who are wanted by the police.
