Police have arrested a suspect in relation to the killing of 10-year-old Jezariah Tyrell.

The suspect was pointed out during an identification parade, today (December 31).

He remains in custody and will be interviewed next Monday (January 3) in the presence of his attorney.

Jezariah was shot dead by gunmen, at her home on Fleet Street in Kingston, yesterday (December 30).

Meantime, Education Minister Fayval Williams has condemned the killing of ten-year-old Jezariah Tyrell.

In a statement today, Mrs. Williams said Jezariah, who was a student of the Holy Family Primary School, would have been preparing to resume school in the new term.

She said the wanton, callous attack on citizens, especially children is heart rending.

The Education Minister added that the attack has robbed a child of the right to develop into her full potential, and also robbed the society of a productive human being.
