Several schools reported a low turn-out of students for classes, today (January 3).
The Education Ministry had announced that face-to-face instruction will commence in all pre-primary, primary and secondary level institutions as of today.
Speaking with Irie Fm News, Education Minister, Fayval Williams said the low turn-out was somewhat expected.
She expressed hope that more students will turn-out as the weeks progress.
Meantime, responding to concerns raised by some about the resumption of face-to-face engagement amid a Covid spike, Mrs. Williams said the ministry has and continues to stress the importance of adherence to the protocols.
