Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson says the police will work even harder this year to ensure that citizens are safe.

He made the statement during the Jamaica Constabulary Force JCF’s Annual Devotion, this morning (January 3).

Noting that there was an 8 per cent reduction in major crimes in 2021 compared to 2020, the Police High Command said more work will be done as the year progresses to protect the public from criminals.

He added that the JCF embarked on several transformation initiatives last year and the organization is ready to forge ahead and strengthen these projects for improved service delivery.

Meantime, Major General Anderson said some 1,200 new recruits, will see police divisions benefiting from increased police personnel.
