Just four days into the new year, Westmoreland has recorded it’s second double murder.

The latest incident occurred in Carawina District Petersfield, early this morning (January 4).

Dead are 43-year-old Derwin Jones and 41-year-old Sheldon Jones both masons, of the same community.

The men are said to be brothers.

Reports from the police are that at about 12 a.m. residents heard explosions and at about 5 a.m. both men were found at the back of their house suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were pronounced dead at hospital.

Just three days ago, on New Years Day, 22-year-old Tajay Stewart and 29-year-old Damar Martin were shot and killed in Cornwall Mountain.

A person of interest has been identified as investigations continue into their deaths.
