Prime Minister Andrew Holness has declared that the country will not be going back to lockdowns as a measure to manage COVID-19.

The declaration comes as Jamaica continues to see record numbers of new cases daily.

On Friday, a record 1,593 new covid cases were confirmed across the country.

Responding to questions at a press briefing this morning, the Prime Minister noted that persons must take responsibility for their actions to prevent becoming infected with COVID -19.
