“This is soft porn.” or “All the hype for this?” are some of the comments across social media platforms following the release of Shenseea’s song “Lick” featuring rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

After teasing social media users, “Lick” was released Friday (Jan 21), and has sent tongues wagging. On Instagram, Shenseea shared 30 seconds of the music video with her over 5 million followers on the platform.

In the comment section, fans of the Sheng Yeng Boss were not afraid to share their truth. One user wrote, “Very disappointed in Shenseea, like what happened? Another said, “We love you but this ain’t it.” In between a few fire, tongue, and heart emojis, another social media user expressed, “This song puts the T in Trash.”

One social media user also accused Shenseea of using the lines and melody of Trinidadian Soca singer Denise Belfon’s 2019 song titled, “Put Your Back In It.”

Meanwhile, some users desperately tried to leave a good comment. One user shared, “Y’all did y’all thang while looking good as well.” While another wrote, “I mean the video nice.”

Shenseea and Megan Thee Stallion’s collaboration “Lick” was produced by The Murda Beatz who also produced Chloe Bailey’s hit song, “Have Mercy.”

Music News understands that “Lick” is the first single from Shenseea’s upcoming Dancehall album Alpha, reportedly due on March 11.
