Police have seized 88 guns since the start of the year.

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson made the revelation during a press conference on Tuesday.

He said 13 rifles were among the weapons seized.

Major General Anderson said there has been a 6 per cent decline in murders and a 19 per cent reduction in all major crimes, compared to last year.

Meantime, the police commissioner noted that the Zone of Special Operations in sections of Central Kingston is bearing fruit.
