Astra Zeneca booster doses to become available as of Monday

Effective next Monday, February 7, persons 18 years and older will be able to get booster doses of the Astra Zeneca Covid vaccine, once they are fully vaccinated.

The Health Ministry said booster doses can be administered to persons six months after their second doses of Astra Zeneca, Pfizer or Sinopharm.

In addition, the Ministry said persons will be offered the opportunity to mix vaccines.

The Astra Zeneca, Johnson and Johnson, or Pfizer vaccines, can be given 28 days or later, to persons who received the Moderna or Sinopharm vaccines, as the first dose.

Persons who received Astra Zeneca as a first dose, may also be offered Pfizer, as the second dose, eight to 12 weeks after the first.

Persons who get two mixed doses will be classified as being fully vaccinated.
