Jamaica receives another shipment of covid vaccines

Jamaica today received more than half a million doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.

 

The 649,000 doses were donated by France, through the COVAX facility.

 

The shipment arrived on the island, this afternoon (Feb.7).

 

The Health Ministry has expressed gratitude for the donation.

 

Meantime, the ministry says over 1.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country to date.

 

Of the total, more than 667,000 were first doses.

 

Another 546,097 were second doses and 83,050 were single doses.

 

Meanwhile, 20,930 booster shots have been given, while, 2,110 additional doses have been administered to persons who are immuno-compromised.
