Reggae Sumfest set for July 20 – 23

by February 14th, 2022

Despite a padlock currently on the entertainment sector, the organizers of Reggae Sumfest shared over the weekend that the festival is set for July 20 – 23.

In a post shared to their official Instagram account, Reggae Sumfest is urging social media users to save the date, and prepare for what is dubbed, the greatest show on earth.

The post also states that the health protocols will be strictly enforced, along with a message that reads, “See You Soon.”

Like many events around the world, the staging of Reggae Sumfest was halted due to the effects of COVID-19.

At present, though the government has extended the curfew hours, the entertainment sector remains closed with no immediate plans to grant permits for live events.

However, Prime Minister Andrew Holness in his last address on February 10, gave notice that the Disaster Risk Management Act will soon come to an end.

The 11:00 pm to 5 am curfew measures will expire on February 24.
