Preliminary Enquiry Into Road Death

A Preliminary Enquiry is to commence next Monday, November 30, in the case against bus driver, Jermaine Morrison, who has been charged in connection with the 2012 death of a school boy.

Dead is 15-year-old, Lennox Lloyd, who was student of Ascot High in Portmore, St Catherine.

Morrison appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court on Monday, November 23, 2015.

Allegations are that on May 29, 2012 about 7:00 a-m, Morrison was driving a Toyota Hiace Minibus towards Portmore.

Upon reaching a section of Passagefort Drive, it is said that personnel from the Transport Authority and the police indicated to Morrison that he should stop.

However, he allegedly disobeyed and sped away.

Upon reaching a section of West Trade Centre in Portmore, Morrison lost control of the vehicle which overturned.

Several students were injured in the incident including Lloyd who later died.

Following an investigation, Morrison was charged with Causing Death by Dangerous Driving.
