Eight more persons have died from the Coronavirus in the country, pushing the country’s death toll to 2,795.

The deaths occurred between august last year and this month.

The deceased are 6 females and 2 males ranging in age from 46 to 87 years.

Four lived in Hanover, 3 in Westmoreland, while the other lived in Kingston and St. Andrew.

Meantime, 41 new cases have been recorded, pushing the country’s case count to one hundred and 27,706.

Of the new cases 25 are females and 16 are males, ranging in ages from 1 year to 82 years.

St. Catherine and St. James recorded the highest number of cases with 9 each, followed by Westmoreland with 8.

The positivity rate is 4.4 per cent.

192 persons are hospitalised with the virus; 39 are moderately ill, 18 severely ill and 6 critically ill.

166 more persons have recovered, pushing the tally to 75,445.
