Brothers charged with murder of Chinese couple, remanded

The two brothers charged with the murder of a Chinese couple at their business place in St. Elizabeth, in December last year, were remanded when they appeared in the Home Circuit Court, today (March 4).

Nigel Walters and Nicholas Walters were remanded until June 2.

The brothers are charged with the murder of 56 year old Shiyun Shu and 48-year-old Haikong Wan.

The couple was shot dead during a robbery at their supermarket in Bellevue, St. Elizabeth.

The two brothers are also charged with the murder of 45-year-old businesswoman Sophia Brown and 58-year-old farmer Bernie Lewis, both of Longhill District in Westmoreland.

It is alleged that the brothers, posing as customers visited brown’s shop in January and shot her and Lewis.
