JUTC assures that routes experiencing challenges will be equipped with buses as classes resume

by March 7th, 2022

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) has assured that a number of routes that were experiencing challenges will be equipped with buses as face-to-face classes fully resume today (March 7).

This after classes were suspended in March 2020, due to COVID-19 and a blended format taken on by schools.

Speaking at a Ministry of Education town hall meeting at the weekend, Corporate Communications Manager at the JUTC, Cecil Thoms said the buses will target the routes with challenges.

He was being questioned about the shortfall of buses on the 66 route that traverses the Hermitage, Mona and South Camp roads.

Meantime, Mr Thoms said the organization is trying to re-integrate repaired buses into the service.
