Jamaica records 4 more Covid-19 related deaths and 18 new cases

Four (4) more persons have died from Covid-19 in the country.

The deceased are three males and 1 female ranging in age from 64 to 96 years.

Three lived in St. Catherine and the other in Westmoreland.

Three of the deaths occurred this month, while the other was recorded in February.

The country’s death toll is now 2,835.

Meantime, 18 new Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday (March 8), pushing the country’s case count to 128,246.

Of the new cases 12 are females and 6 are males.

They range in age from 1 year to 82 years.

St. James recorded the highest number of cases with 8.

The positivity rate is 3.9 per cent.

The ministry says 81 people are hospitalised with the virus, among them, 20 are moderately ill, 2 are severely ill and 2 critically ill.

50 more persons have recovered from the virus.
