Parents are being advised to look out for symptoms of Multi-Inflammatory System Syndrome, MIS-C, in children who have recovered from Covid-19.
Addressing the monthly meeting of the Westmoreland Municipal Corporation recently, Medical Officer of Health for Westmoreland, Dr. Marcia Graham said children who have had Covid-19 may be more prone to the illness.
Information from the Johns Hopkins University indicates that MIS–C usually affects school-age children, most commonly eight to nine-year-olds, but the syndrome has also been seen in infants and young adults.
