The police are now clearing away debris along Maxfield Avenue in Kingston, where residents staged a protest over the fatal shooting of a member of their community.

The residents’ blockade covers the Maxfield Avenue/Spanish Town Road intersection to Gem Road.

They are alleging police brutality amidst the shooting of 38-year-old Emelio Morris by police yesterday (March 17).

Morris’ niece, told IRIE FM news that her uncle was a peaceful man, who did not warrant the death he received.

Meantime, one resident is calling for justice, as she believes the police should be protectors and not murderers.

She gave her account of the incident.

The police are yet to provide a statement on the incident.
