Ocho Rios craft traders hopeful that business will improve significantly following withdrawal of COVID-19 restrictions

With the COVID-19 restrictions under the Disaster Risk Management act now lifted, craft traders in Ocho Rios, St. Ann are hopeful that business will improve significantly.

 

President of the Ocho Rios Craft Council, Devon Mitchell notes that the pandemic had a very serious impact on the craft industry.

 

He explains, however, that indicators in recent times have been positive for the most part.

Mr. Mitchell adds that meetings will be held with Government and stakeholders to discuss making the craft business more viable.

 

In recent weeks, Jamaica has recorded visit arrivals, similar to and above pre-pandemic levels.

 

The Tourism Ministry is anticipating that this month will see a huge spike in arrival numbers
