Protesters demand apology from Britain prior to arrival of British Royals

by March 22nd, 2022

Scores of protesters gathered at the British High Commission in Kingston, on Tuesday morning, demanding an apology from Britain for it’s involvement in the African Slave Trade and calling for reparations.

The protest began at 10:30 am.

It comes hours before the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The protesters including rastafarians and members of the advocates network say they will not move from the location until a valid representative from the British Commission addresses the issue.

They say Britain must apologize for the enslavement of africans.

One protester, Ras Iyah says the apology is long overdue.

And host of Irie Fm’s Running Africa Forum Kabu Maat Kheru also joined the protest.

She outlined several reasons why an apology is needed.
