Tourist arrivals expected to grow between 30 and 78 percent, this year

Tourist arrivals are expected to grow between 30 and 78 percent this year, as the industry moves to recover to pre-pandemic levels.

Abigail Henry of the Tourism Awareness Unit at the Jamaica Tourist Board, JTB, says the figures are based on travel trends and insights.

Speaking at the Let’s Talk Tourism Youth Expo and Careers Fair, Ms. Henry shared major trends and the outlook for the industry, highlighting areas for opportunities in tourism.

She said with activities increasing in the tourism sector, there are opportunities for job seekers and entrepreneurs.

She highlighted some areas of focus for the JTB and noted how the trends impact the workforce and the job market.

Ms. Henry explained that research has shown that Health and Wellness Tourism is growing at a high rate.

She underscored the need to build the workforce, as more visitors are coming to the country and there will be increased traffic to attractions.
