Labour Ministry hands over cheques to Port Maria arcade vendors impacted by recent flood rains

Over 30 vendors from the Port Maria Arcade in St. Mary, who were adversely impacted by the recent flood rains will now be able to restock.

This after the vendors were given some financial support by the Labour Ministry yesterday (March 29), in the form of cheques.

The total amount disbursed is over 1.3 million dollars.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony yesterday, Labour Minister Karl Samuda commended Ministry staff for working quickly to reduce the wait time between the request for help, and when the help is given.

He added that the initiative will cost over 25 million dollars.
