Parents of baby who died after falling off bed not coping with tragic loss

by March 30th, 2022

The parents of a baby boy, who reportedly died after falling off a bed, are not coping with the tragic loss.

The matter has been made worse by media reports which the parents claim are not true.

One year old Stephen West was found unresponsive at his home in Pedro River, near Croft’s Hill, in Clarendon, on Monday, March 28.

He was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The child’s mother and step father were taken into police custody, questioned and then released.

The mother told Irie FM News that the family has not been given any support or counselling, since the incident took place.

She said some relatives and residents have distanced themselves, following erroneous reports about what happened.

The mother is refuting reports that she was at home at the time of the incident and also reports that the child was heard crying for several hours.

The mother is appealing for help to deal with the trauma.

She said it’s not known when an autopsy will be done.
